Joe P. Reynolds is a litigator on the firm’s Complex Commercial Litigation team. His practice spans a broad spectrum of substantive areas and industries, including high‑stakes contractual disputes, class actions, franchise litigation, land use litigation, and insurance coverage and recovery claims and litigation.
Mr. Reynolds has represented clients in a number of federal and state court proceedings throughout the United States. He has experience in all phases of complex commercial litigation, including discovery management, taking and defending depositions, motion practice, oral argument, and trial practice.
Mr. Reynolds also maintains an active pro bono practice, primarily focusing on civil rights litigation. In 2018, Mr. Reynolds received the Asylum Volunteer Attorney of the Year Award from the Georgia Asylum & Immigration Network (GAIN), as well as Kilpatrick Townsend’s “Freedom Award,” for securing political asylum for an individual fleeing persecution and torture at the hands of a foreign government.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Reynolds served as a law clerk to the Honorable Marc T. Treadwell in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia.
While in law school, Mr. Reynolds served as an extern to Judge Ethelyn N. Simpson and Judge Charles E. Auslander, III in the State Court of Athens-Clarke County in Athens, Georgia. He was also the Senior Articles Editor of the Georgia Law Review, a research assistant for Professor Lonnie T. Brown, and the recipient of the William K. Meadow Award, as the graduate “who best exemplifies the integrity, sense of responsibility, and high standards of the legal profession and has the keen sense of humor necessary to afford a proper human perspective to the resolution of legal problems.”
Mr. Reynolds was recognized in 2021 and 2022 as one of the "Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch" for Commercial Litigation by The Best Lawyers in America®.
