Nathalie Machado focuses her practice on domestic and international mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
While attending Emory University School of Law, Ms. Machado worked as a Kilpatrick Townsend summer associate in its mergers, acquisitions, and securities practice. She also served as a legal extern at a multinational corporation and manufacturer, retailer, and marketer of nonalcoholic beverage concentrates and syrups in Atlanta, where she provided legal risk assessment on South American operations, assisted with cross-border financing transactions in Europe, and participated in royalty negotiations.
Prior to moving to the United States, Ms. Machado attended law school at Université Panthéon-Assas in Paris, France, where she obtained her Licence and Maîtrise en Droit. She also holds a masters degree in Business Law from Université de Versailles, France and a law degree from Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora, Brazil. A member of the Brazilian Bar, Ms. Machado previously served as in-house counsel and then assistant director of operations at a pharmaceutical company in Juiz de Fora, Brazil. In that role, she led public and private funding initiatives and negotiated and drafted various transactions, ranging from government contracts with Brazilian federal entities to joint ventures, licensing agreements, and sales of assets. She also practiced general corporate law and commercial litigation at a law firm in Juiz de Fora, Brazil, and she interned at a law office in Paris, France where she assisted with corporate, labor, and employment matters, and attended courtroom proceedings.
Ms. Machado is French-Brazilian and speaks Portuguese (native) and French fluently. She also speaks conversational Spanish.
