An Update on Our Firm’s Response to COVID-19:
I know that we are all struggling to come to grips with the rapidly shifting business landscape created by the COVID-19 Pandemic. We continue to focus on our core mission – serving our clients – and the health and safety of our global workforce. I am proud to report that the Firm is responding well to the crisis and the remote work environment. Every Kilpatrick Townsend employee who needs to do so has the ability to work remotely. Indeed, approximately 85% of our employees logged into our remote working access system yesterday. As the crisis continues, we will continue to think differently about how we support the important business objectives of our clients and adapt to your remote work arrangements. We know many of you are grappling with the same challenges, and we are committed to supporting you. Here is what you should expect to see from us in the coming days and weeks:
- We will continue to put health and safety of our workforce and clients first. The Firm and its employees are committed to following social distancing guidelines to protect our own health and to support the greater good. From the start, we have followed recommendations of local, state, and federal agencies, and we have assembled an internal task force that is responsible for staying up-to-date and monitoring developments as they occur.
- We will continue to keep you informed. We have also developed an external, client-focused COVID-19 Task Force charged with identifying the legal issues presented by business interruptions caused by this crisis and providing our clients with guidance, recommendations, and when appropriate, legal advice. Our latest updates may be found in our Insights Center, which is being updated daily. If you don’t see your issue addressed here, please reach out to your primary Kilpatrick Townsend contact or send an email with your question to our COVID-19 Task Force.
- We will continue to leverage our technology resources to provide uninterrupted service to all clients, even if our attorneys and staff work remotely. Our lawyers and staff already have the ability to work remotely, ensuring our ability to seamlessly transition ongoing matters to remote teams.
- We will continue to be vigilant about security and privacy. Our networks are secured by state-of-the-art technology, augmented with robust training. All Kilpatrick Townsend employees are required to complete monthly training sessions related to best practices for data security and privacy, including security measures for remote work environments.
I have asked our attorneys to continue to reach out to our clients, colleagues, and friends to determine what they can do to help at this time. The Firm is also making sure we continue to support the volunteer, pro bono, and community organizations that rely on us. While this crisis has forced us into isolated work environments – we can still overcome it by working together.
