Insights: News Releases Kilpatrick Townsend Earns Top Marks in Corporate Equality Index

ATLANTA (January 29, 2021) - Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton proudly announces that, for the sixth consecutive year, it received a perfect score of 100 percent on the 2021 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.

In this 19th edition of the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index, 767 businesses earned a 100 percent rating and the designation of being a “Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality.” Top-rated CEI employers come from nearly every industry and region of the United States. Employers earning top ratings took concrete steps to ensure greater equity for LGBTQ workers and their families in the form of comprehensive policies, benefits and practices.

The CEI rating criteria have three key pillars:

  • Non-discrimination policies across business entities;
  • Equitable benefits for LGBTQ workers and their families; and
  • Supporting an inclusive culture and corporate social responsibility.
  • Since 2002, the Human Rights Campaign Foundation has published the CEI report based largely on the annual CEI survey administered to hundreds of major global employers. The first Index in 2002 had 13 top-rated companies. The CEI universe includes Fortune magazine’s 500 largest publicly traded businesses, American Lawyer magazine’s top 200 revenue-grossing law firms (AmLaw 200) and hundreds of publicly and privately held mid- to large-sized businesses.
