Eighteen Kilpatrick Townsend Attorneys Recognized as 2020 New York Super Lawyers and Rising Stars

NEW YORK (October 1) – Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today that 18 of the firm’s attorneys were recognized as 2020 New York–Metro Super Lawyers and Rising Stars. In addition to this prestigious list, Lisa Pearson was named a Top 50 Women and Top 100 New York–Metro Super Lawyer and Marc Lieberstein was recognized as a Top 100 New York–Metro Super Lawyer.

The distinction honors attorneys who attain a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement as some of the region’s pre-eminent lawyers. Super Lawyers is a rating service of lawyers from more than 70 practice areas. The selection process includes independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations, all of which result in a comprehensive and diverse listing of the top five percent of attorneys in each state.

The following attorneys received recognition as 2020 Super Lawyers:

Barry Benjamin – Media/Advertising 
Barry M. Benjamin chairs Kilpatrick Townsend’s Advertising and Marketing group and is the Managing Partner of the firm's New York office. His practice focuses on advertising, privacy, and technology transactions, in areas where traditional and digital media converge, and where evolving distribution platforms and data gathering tools push the boundaries of intellectual property rights, privacy, technology, and content.

Stephen Feingold – Intellectual Property
Stephen Feingold focuses his practice on trademark, copyright, advertising and Internet law. Trained as a litigator, Mr. Feingold currently divides his time between litigation and transactional projects advising clients with their most complicated trademark, copyright and Internet issues.

Marc Lieberstein – Intellectual Property
Marc Lieberstein is the co-chair of the Franchise Group and Retail & Consumer Goods industry team. His practice focuses on intellectual property licensing and franchising in the retail/consumer goods and services areas, fashion/apparel and accessories, food and beverage, and commercial/industrial design. Marc was recognized as a Top 100 Lawyer. 

Georges Nahitchevansky – Intellectual Property
Georges Nahitchevansky concentrates his practice in litigation and counseling on trademark, copyright and Internet matters across a broad spectrum of industries both in the U.S. and internationally. He has extensive experience in handling U.S. and worldwide trademark, copyright and Internet enforcement matters, including complex cross border and multi-jurisdictional disputes.

Lisa Pearson – Intellectual Property Litigation
Lisa Pearson is an experienced, versatile and creative litigator specializing in copyright, trademark, unfair competition and Internet-related disputes. She represents creators and brand owners across a broad spectrum of industries including fashion and luxury goods, publishing, arts and entertainment, consumer products, travel and many others. Lisa was recognized as a Top 50 Women and Top 100 Lawyer.

David Posner – Bankruptcy: Business
David Posner focuses his practice on bankruptcy and insolvency matters, and represents companies, creditors’ committees, chapter 11 trustees, acquirers, financial institutions, and other significant parties-in-interest in complex reorganizations and financially distressed situations as well as debtor/creditor rights, and commercial litigation. 

Robert Potter - Intellectual Property Litigation
Rob Potter delivers practical and efficient solutions to complicated issues in trademark/copyright litigation and brand enforcement. His priority is listening to his clients and learning their industries so he can develop strategies specific to their business and legal needs.

Jason Vogel – Intellectual Property
Jason Vogel focuses his practice on US and international trademark portfolio and conflict counseling. His experience includes advising on complex multi-jurisdictional trademark clearance, protection, enforcement, anti-counterfeiting, litigation, and licensing programs for leading companies in the film, television and music; technology; apparel; consumer products; and financial industries.

Frederick Whitmer -  Intellectual Property Litigation
Fred Whitmer focuses his practice in intellectual property and business litigation. Mr. Whitmer's patent litigation experience has involved a wide array of technologies across many industries, ranging from the simple mechanical to complex computer software and systems patents, to medical devices and chemical products.

Megan Bussey – Intellectual Property
Megan Bussey concentrates her practice on intellectual property law, with particular emphasis on patent prosecution, patent litigation, and opinion work. Her practice involves a wide range of technologies, including medical devices, mechanical devices, textiles, merchandising displays and telecommunications. 

Wendy (Wenhsien) Cheng – Intellectual Property
Wendy Cheng is counsel in the China Brands team based in our New York office. She advises and manages clients’ global trademark portfolios and prepares IP protection strategy for a wide range of businesses, including but not limited to, FORTUNE 100 technology companies, a FORTUNE 500 LED manufacturer, a leading hospitality brand, high-end luxury apparel brands, financial institutions, national universities, and entertainment companies. 

Gianfranco Finizio – Bankruptcy: Business
Gianfranco Finizio focuses his practice on bankruptcy and insolvency matters. Mr. Finizio has experience representing, among other parties in interest, official committees of unsecured creditors, whose members include trade creditors, service providers, bondholders, indenture trustees, unsecured lenders, landlords and class action plaintiffs in all facets of insolvency proceedings.

Mannu Harnal – Intellectual Property
Mannu Harnal focuses his practice on copyright and trademark law and advises clients in a wide range of industries, including sports and entertainment, digital media, technology, financial services, fashion and apparel, and food and restaurant services industries. 

Ana-Claudia Roderick – Intellectual Property

Gabrielle Simon – Intellectual Property
Gabrielle Simon focuses her practice on domestic and international trademark counseling, portfolio management, clearance, and enforcement matters. She frequently counsels clients in the consumer products, entertainment, fashion, financial services, restaurants, professional sports, publishing, and technology industries.

Rita Weeks – Intellectual Property Litigation
Rita Weeks specializes in intellectual property litigation, brand protection, and copyright counseling. Rita has served as lead counsel or second chair in dozens of trademark, trade dress, copyright, unfair competition, and licensor/licensee disputes. 

Bryan Wolin – Media/Advertising
Bryan Wolin focuses his practice on advertising, copyright, and trademark law. His experience in advertising law includes advertising disputes before the National Advertising Division (NAD), litigation of advertising claims in federal courts nationwide, and advising clients on compliance with the NAD, FDA, FTC, and other applicable standards and guidelines.
