Mary Craig Calkins Appointed President-Elect of the American College of Coverage and Extracontractual Counsel
LOS ANGELES (May 27) – Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today that partner Mary Craig Calkins was appointed President-Elect of the prestigious American College of Coverage and Extracontractual Counsel (ACCEC) at the ACCEC’s Annual Conference in Chicago, Illinois. Ms. Calkins will serve a one-year term.
Most recently, Ms. Calkins served as ACCEC’s Secretary/Treasurer. She is also a member of ACCEC’s Executive Committee and Board of Regents.
In addition to Ms. Calkins, Kilpatrick Townsend partners Helen Michael, Caroline Spangenberg and Barry Fleishman are fellows of the ACCEC.
The ACCEC, established in 2012, is composed of preeminent coverage and extracontractual counsel in the United States and Canada, representing the interests of both insurers and policyholders. The College is focused on the ethical and efficient adjudication of insurance coverage and extracontractual disputes, peer-provided scholarship and improving professionalism and civility among its diverse members. Ms. Calkins, who leads Kilpatrick Townsend’s growing West Coast Insurance Practice, focuses her practice on insurance recovery for policyholders in complex, high-value matters. Her extensive coverage experience includes directors and officers liability, professional errors and omissions, entertainment and intellectual property claims, cyber liabilities, e-commerce and technology claims, labor and employment claims, construction defects, first party property and business interruption losses, and broker liability issues. Ms. Calkins also advises in-house counsel, senior executives and company management on how to maximize insurance protection and recovery.
