When is an invention ready to patent? What do you need to prepare and file a fully enabled patent application? When is the appropriate time to file a patent application? When is it too late to file a patent application? What should you avoid doing before (and after) filing a patent application? Should you file a patent application for all commercially relevant inventions, or is trade secret protection a viable option? This session will answer these questions and provide attendees with the basic knowledge needed to advise their clients on the question of: to patent or not to patent.
