Overview

Chris Roberge focuses his practice on patent prosecution and counseling. Dr. Roberge is also a scientist and engineer with more than 20 years of research and development experience in various areas of biotechnology, chemistry, pharmaceuticals, and biofuels.

Prior to his legal career, Dr. Roberge was a Principal Scientist at BP Biofuels in Berkeley, California. There he managed interdisciplinary research collaborations with BP’s Energy Biosciences Institute partners—the University of California, Berkeley and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign—in the fields of biofuel production, biomass depolymerization, agricultural feedstock development, fossil fuel bioprocessing, and regulation. Previously, Dr. Roberge worked as a Senior Research Chemist at Merck Research Laboratories in Rahway, New Jersey, where he rapidly identified, developed, and implemented biocatalytic processes for the asymmetric production of small molecule drug candidates.

Dr. Roberge is the primary author of five and co-author of ten peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters. He is co-inventor of six issued patents and a presenter at multiple professional conferences.
