Brad Loos has more than 20 years of experience assisting clients with patent procedures for medical device, mechanical, and life science inventions. Mr. Loos prepares and prosecutes U.S. patent applications and coordinates patent prosecution in foreign jurisdictions. His experience further includes drafting amendments, appeals and petitions. He also performs patentability searches, due diligence, clearance reviews, corporate intelligence, virtual patent marking and freedom to operate analysis. Mr. Loos is skilled at creating and managing customized secure databases to facilitate patent landscape reviews that resulted in a $475 million client acquisition during 2014 and a $39 million Series B financing for another client during 2015.

Mr. Loos also supervised the extensive patent portfolio transfer of Thoratec Corporation and provided strategic instructions to foreign associates to protect key products internationally. In October 2015, Thoratec Corporation was acquired by St. Jude Medical, Inc., for approximately $3.3 billion dollars.

Mr. Loos owns several registered trademarks and is an inventor with patents relating to oenology equipment and fermentation technology.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Loos served an administrative role as Patent Prosecution Supervisor. He has taught biology at both the high school and university levels.


Created and maintained ultra-secure virtual data rooms to facilitate collaboration between internal and external parties during due diligence, patent portfolio landscape analysis, and other confidential business reviews.

Prepared and filed asylum applications and supporting documents, conducted research and secured expert witness testimony in support of several persecuted immigrants from Mexico before the Immigration Court with an attorney team resulting in Green Card status and Employment Authorization outcomes to date.
