Greg Cinnamon focuses his practice on domestic and cross border mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, joint ventures, investments, commercial transactions, fintech, and business operations.
Prior to entering law school, he was an internal auditor with RJR/Nabisco. In 1991 and 1992, Mr. Cinnamon was on assignment to a leading Tokyo law firm where he had significant responsibility in a number of transactions involving cross-border investment and business operations, international finance, and international securities.
Mr. Cinnamon was recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® in 2019 and the ten years immediately preceding for Mergers & Acquisitions and Corporate Law. He was recommended in 2011 by Legal 500 US in the area of Mergers & Acquisitions and Buyouts. Mr. Cinnamon was also named as one of Georgia Trend's 2008 "Legal Elite" for Business Law. He was recognized as a 2008 Georgia "Super Lawyer" in the areas of International and Mergers & Acquisitions law by Super Lawyers magazine and was named as a top "Dealmaker" of 2008 by the Atlanta Business Chronicle. Represented Equifax Inc. in acquisitions and joint ventures in several Latin American countries including Argentina, Brazil, and Chile in transactions valued over $2 billion.
Advised Griffin Corporation on formation of $1 billion global agri-chemicals joint venture with a listed partner with operations in the United States, Europe and South America.
Represented Equifax Inc. in connection with its $124 million acquisition of IXI Corporation.
Represented Equifax Inc. in connection with its acquisition of BeNow Inc.
Represented Yorkshire Group plc in the $100 million acquisition of global textile dyes business from a listed U.S. company with operations in the United States, Western Europe, Asia and South America.
Represented Equifax Inc. in connection with its acquisition of Austin Consolidated Holdings Inc.
Represented Equifax Inc. in connection with its acquisition of Credit Bureau of Knoxville Inc.
Represented credit card processing company in joint venture with two Brazilian banking partners.
Represented management of a vehicle service contracts company in connection with leveraged buy-out from an international automaker.
Represented Bi-Lo LLC, a grocery store chain, as lead counsel, in the disposal of 110 grocery store chains to Southern Family Markets, an affiliate of C&S Wholesale Grocers, Inc.
Representation of Bi-Lo LLC and Southern Family Markets in acquiring grocery stores from Winn-Dixie in a 363 bankruptcy sale. Transaction valued in excess of $30 million.
Represented CRH plc, the international building materials group, in its pending acquisition of Ash Grove Cement Company, a leading U.S. cement manufacturer for $3.5 billion.
The firm served as lead counsel representing AT&T Inc. in the $235 million sale of a line of business owned and operated by subsidiary L.M. Berry and Company, which provides sales, marketing, publishing and other services to more than 80 publishers of Yellow Pages directories, to a portfolio company of Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe.
