DENVER/SHANGHAI (September 20) – Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP announced today that it has named Kristopher Reed Managing Partner of the firm’s Shanghai office in the People’s Republic of China. Mr. Reed’s practice focuses on intellectual property litigation and counseling. He has been with the firm since 2005.
Kilpatrick Townsend’s Shanghai office is located in the ZhangJiang High-Tech Park, which includes an area of over 25 square kilometers with 100,000 employees and approximately 2,000 high-tech companies. The firm has a long history of working closely with both China-based companies and American companies with interests in the region to facilitate business development and to build relationships with clients throughout Asia.

Mr. Reed works with clients in such diverse fields as electronics, semiconductor manufacturing and development, software, telecommunications, transportation, entertainment, retail and consumer goods, and financial transactions. He has extensive experience in all aspects of federal district court litigation and International Trade Commission (ITC) investigations and trials.
Mr. Reed has been twice recognized by The Best Lawyers in America® for Patent Litigation. He has been selected six times as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers. Mr. Reed also has been named a top patent practitioner four times by IAM Patent 1000 – The World’s Leading Patent Practitioners.
Prior to joining the legal profession, Mr. Reed worked as a software engineer for one of the United States’ largest technology companies, developing cutting-edge design automation tools for VLSI microprocessor design. He also worked as a researcher for the National Institute of Science and Technology in Boulder, Colorado, conducting research into next-generation wireless standards and measurement techniques.
