Sara Bradford is a registered patent attorney in Kilpatrick Townsend’s Denver office. Sara focuses her practice on strategic intellectual property counseling and procurement, primarily in the computer, software and electronics industries.


Dr. Violeta García is the principal consultant at STEM Learning by Design. For more than 12 years, she has provided educational services specializing in STEM program development and educator professional development in formal and informal settings, linking her passion for science and education to prepare our next generation of leaders to solve 21st-century challenges. Her research interests include equity in STEM, pre-service and in-service teacher professional development, and involving families in career pathway development. Nationally and locally, Dr. Garcia is a sought-after expert, as well as an influential connector who facilitates collaboration and partnerships among industry, education, and community stakeholders. Her latest project is a resource guide called This Is What STEM Looks Like. Dr. Garcia earned her doctorate in Biological Education from the University of Northern Colorado with a minor in applied statistics and research methods. She earned her Masters in Education from the University of California, Los Angeles, and her Bachelors of Science in Biological Science from the California State University at Fullerton. Dr. Garcia was born in Santa Ana, El Salvador, and raised in Los Angeles, CA. She has travelled to 32 countries and loves spending time outdoors in nature with her two daughters.

Patty Lopez is a Senior Platform Applications Engineer at Intel Corporation, working with customers to deliver Xeon server chip solutions that power high end data centers and mission critical applications. Prior to joining Intel in 2008, she spent 19 years as an Imaging Scientist for Hewlett Packard, creating and transferring technology in imaging into scanner, camera, and all-in-one products. She has released over fifty products and holds seven imaging patents. She earned her B.S. (with honors), M.S., and Ph.D. in Computer Science from New Mexico State University. Her research interests include CS education, E-textiles, and wearable computing. Her volunteer efforts are focused on building the STEM pipeline for K-16 and beyond, and creating an inclusive organizational culture in the workplace. She is a Co-Founder and Co-Chair of Latinas in Computing, serves on the board of GlobalMindED, and is teaches K-12 hands on activities including Expanding Your Horizons, HP Girls Tech Camp, and National Engineers Week.

Melissa Risteff is the CEO and Co-Founder of Couragion, a woman-owned, Denver-based educational technology company. Couragion’s mission is to inspire underrepresented youth to pursue skills, competencies and careers in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Couragion is research-backed and supported by the Engineering Directorate of the National Science Foundation, with programming that’s proven to increase the awareness and perception of STEM careers. Melissa is an Achiever, Activator, Arranger, Maximizer and Strategic who thrives on challenge, purpose, and connection. When not focused on innovation and education transformation, you can find her in the Pilates studio, trail hiking, in the kitchen, or traveling the globe (40 countries and counting).
