Jaci Shanks focuses her practice on domestic and international trademark counseling, portfolio management, multi-jurisdictional dispute management, enforcement, and domain name disputes. She assists clients in assessing the availability of trademarks for use and registration, developing and implementing complex trademark protection strategies, and monitoring and enforcing trademark rights in the United States and abroad.

Ms. Shanks regularly counsels, coordinates and oversees international contentions proceedings, advises clients embarking on extensive international trademark protection programs, and represents clients before the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Ms. Shanks earned her J.D. from Vanderbilt University School of Law and received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia. During law school, she was the Managing Editor of the Journal of Entertainment & Technology Law, President and co-Founder of the Vanderbilt Student Health & Wellness Association, and an intern at the Tennessee Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Shanks gained experience at the Fulton County Public Defender’s Office and the Atlanta Legal Aid Society.

In 2015, Ms. Shanks received the prestigious Burton Award, which recognizes excellence in legal writing, for an article published in Landslide.
