Doug McManamon assists clients in the acquisition, financing, development, construction, and closing of all types of real estate and real estate finance projects.

Mr. McManamon has advised clients in all phases of the acquisition, financing and development of land, including negotiation of purchase agreements, loan and title policy review, zoning, land use, building code issues, and commercial leasing matters. He also represents clients including lenders and noteholders before administrative agencies and state and federal courts providing a full range of litigation services, including contract disputes, judicial and non-judicial foreclosure actions, and collection remedies, including writs of attachment and receiverships.

Mr. McManamon advises owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and material suppliers on a wide range of construction issues, including mechanics’ lien rights and remedies, operating issues, insurance and indemnity matters, construction contracts, claims avoidance, and dispute resolution. He provides both front-end and litigation services, including claim analysis and preparation, contract disputes, construction defect prosecution, payment and performance bond recovery, mechanic’s lien foreclosure and other foreclosure related litigation. His prior training as an architect and construction experience provide him with a natural understanding of the issues facing construction and real estate industry professionals.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. McManamon studied architecture at the University of Virginia and gained several years of experience as an architectural designer and builder. While in law school, Mr. McManamon served as the Editor-in-Chief of the distinguished Maritime Law Journal and was a member of the University of San Francisco Law Review. In addition, he earned CALI awards for excellence in both Securities Regulation and Maritime Law.
