Ken Jenkins is the Managing Partner of the firm's San Diego office. His practice focuses on patent counseling and patent litigation, primarily in the health and life sciences and the oil and gas-petrochemicals industries.

Dr. Jenkins routinely counsels biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies of all sizes in developing their patent claiming and filing strategies, procuring patents on cornerstone technologies, and strategically managing patent portfolios to maximize investments. He also counsels lenders and investors in assessing the value of patent assets through due diligence reviews, including validity analyses, freedom to operate analyses, and in-licensed technology investigations. In addition to patent counseling, Dr. Jenkins represents pharmaceutical companies in high-stakes patent litigations involving challenges under the Hatch-Waxman Act.

Dr. Jenkins has extensive patent counseling experience in protecting a wide array of disruptive bioscience and chemical technologies, including induced pluripotent stem cell technology, green industrial chemical production, enhanced oil recovery, innovative antibody library production, small molecule modulators, protein network medical diagnostics, interfering RNA technologies, combination therapies, nutraceuticals, proteomics, microfluidic devices, mass spectrometry deconvolution techniques, chemical syntheses, fluorescent and luminescent probes, pharmaceutical formulations and protein glycosylation.

Dr. Jenkins received the Royal Society of Chemistry's Young Investigator Award for his Ph.D. thesis work and was elected by his peers as one of San Diego's Best Young Attorneys in 2008. Dr. Jenkins was recognized as a member of "The Transcript 10" by the San Diego Daily Transcript in its annual 2012 Top Attorneys special report. The Daily Transcript selected only ten noteworthy San Diego County attorneys to be recognized under “The Transcript 10,” which showcases an eclectic mix of practices.
