Jason Gonder focuses his practice on trademark and copyright enforcement and litigation. Mr. Gonder also develops and implements strategies to clear, register, and enforce clients’ trademarks domestically and abroad, with an eye to maximizing brand power and minimizing litigation risk.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Gonder was an IP/Litigation attorney in the Palo Alto, California office of an international law firm where his practice included trademark clearance, prosecution, enforcement, licensing, patent litigation, copyright litigation, and intellectual property counseling and strategic planning.

Previously, Mr. Gonder was an IP/Litigation attorney in the New York, New York office of an international law firm where his practice focused on trademark clearance, prosecution, enforcement, licensing, patent litigation, keyword advertising disputes, domain name disputes, and intellectual property counseling and strategic planning.

Mr. Gonder has represented clients in all phases of litigation in federal courts in California, New York, Illinois, Texas, Pennsylvania, the District of Columbia, Georgia, North Carolina, and Oklahoma, as well as the International Trade Commission and state courts in California and New York. He has represented clients in appeals before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Second, Ninth, Eleventh, and Federal Circuits and the California Court of Appeals. Mr. Gonder has also represented clients before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, including before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

Mr. Gonder served in the inaugural class of the National Civilian Community Corps in San Diego, California. There, he unearthed artifacts from the first Spanish settlement on the West Coast, tutored ESL students, and painted murals at under-resourced schools. Mr. Gonder also served as a Volunteer in Service to America (VISTA) in Rochester, New York. As a VISTA, he coded and designed a farmworker nonprofit’s first website and provided other technical support. Mr. Gonder has helped indigent immigrants remedy wage-and-hour violations and has represented pro bono clients on IP, veteran, family, and criminal matters.

While attending law school, Mr. Gonder was an Editor of the Stanford Law Review. While attending the University of Rochester, Mr. Gonder studied abroad in West Africa.

Mr. Gonder was recognized as a Northern California “Rising Star” for Intellectual Property Litigation by Super Lawyers magazine in 2012, 2013, and 2014.
