Lisa Dornbach Flanagan, Ph.D. focuses her practice on patent prosecution and counseling in technologies relating to biotechnology and life sciences. Dr. Flanagan prosecutes patents for clients in the U.S. and abroad and advises on patent portfolio management. She also has experience preparing patentability, freedom to operate, patent validity, and non-infringement opinions. Dr. Flanagan has also provided technical assistance in litigation.

Dr. Flanagan's experience spans numerous disciplines, including molecular and cellular biology, immunology, stem cells, diagnostics, biologics, and plant biology. She has experience with a wide range of clients, including academic institutions, start-up biotechnology and biopharmaceutical companies, and established biotechnology and life sciences companies.

Prior to her career in law, Dr. Flanagan conducted her doctoral research at the University of California at Los Angeles, where her research focused on growth factor signaling pathways involved in mammalian cardiovascular and skeletal development. During law school, she was a member of the moot court team that won the national championship at the 2008 Saul Lefkowitz Trademark Law Moot Court Competition. She also was an editor for the Hastings Communications and Entertainment Law Journal and served an extern to the Honorable Marilyn Hall Patel for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
