Stephen Dew is a registered patent attorney who focuses his practice on patent prosecution and counseling in the areas of electronics, software, and telecommunications.

During law school, Mr. Dew was a Staff Member of the North Carolina Law Review and an Articles Editor of the North Carolina Journal of Law and Technology. During his third year at law school, as a certified clinical law student, he represented pro-bono clients in trademark prosecution matters before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Mr. Dew is an engineer with over a decade of professional experience in both technical and customer-facing roles. Prior to launching his legal career, he worked as a consulting technical expert for patent infringement cases. Previously, he held the position of Compiler Engineer at Freescale Semiconductor (now NXP), where he worked on a team responsible for a commercial C/C++ compiler and participated in the development of next-generation Digital Signal Processors (DSPs). Mr. Dew also held the position of Applications Engineer at Freescale, where he optimized customers’ telecommunications and other software. Previously, he held the position of Applications and Services Engineer at StarCore LLC, where he provided extensive technical training to customers, and managed the software support relationship for one client.

Mr. Dew has knowledge of various software programming languages, including C, C++, Java, Perl, MATLAB, and several assembly languages.

Mr. Dew speaks French and has a basic knowledge of German.
