David Smith concentrates his practice on business litigation at the trial and appellate levels. He represents plaintiffs and defendants in matters involving securities, shareholder rights, corporate governance and business torts and has a focus on litigation involving Native Americans.
Mr. Smith was listed in The Best Lawyers in America® for Commercial Litigation in 2011 and 2012, is listed in the 2010 edition of Business North Carolina's “Legal Elite,” and as a 2010, 2011 and 2012 North Carolina "Super Lawyer" for Business Litigation in SuperLawyers magazine. Mr. Smith received the award for "North Carolina Lawyer of the Year" from The Legal Aid Society of Northwest North Carolina for pro bono legal services provided to the community for the years 2001-2004.
