Betsy Cook Lanzen focuses her practice in the areas of commercial litigation and insurance coverage disputes for policyholders. Ms. Lanzen has extensive litigation experience, having handled a wide range of business disputes, including complex contract matters, insurance coverage disputes, and trademark and trade secret cases in federal and state courts across the country as well as various arbitration forums. She frequently counsels clients about legal issues impacting their day-to-day business operations and transactions.
Ms. Lanzen has represented policyholders in insurance coverage matters involving builders’ risk polices, commercial general liability and directors and officers insurance. She has prosecuted actions and defended clients in a variety of trade secret, intellectual property and unfair and deceptive trade practices claims. Ms. Lanzen has also litigated many complex contract disputes for multi-million dollar companies.
In 2011, Ms. Lanzen was selected as one of the Triangle's Women Extraordinaire by Business Leader Magazine. She was the recipient of the 2008 Impact Pro Bono Award from Business Leader Magazine. Ms. Lanzen is a board member of the Eastern Distict of North Caronlina Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and regularly participates in the annual MS Bike Tour where she rides more than 150 miles to raise money for the Chapter.
