WASHINGTON, DC (September 20)Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today that Partner Mark Stember was elected as a Fellow in the prestigious American College of Employee Benefits Counsel (ACEBC).

Induction as a Fellow in ACEBC is a national distinction. To be eligible, an individual must have been practicing employee benefits law for at least 20 years, demonstrated a sustained commitment to public awareness and understanding of benefits laws, and maintained a high standard of professional services in the practice of law.

The American College of Employee Benefits Counsel, Inc. (ACEBC), a not-for-profit organization, was formed in recognition of significant legal and social policy issues impacting the regulation and management of pension, retirement, group health, disability and other welfare plans. The College’s mission statement is: “Fostering excellence in the practice of employee benefits law and advancing public understanding of employee benefits.”

Mr. Stember concentrates his practice on counseling clients on the tax and related aspects of health and welfare benefits, flexible compensation, fringe benefits, executive compensation, and qualified retirement plans. He has counseled both private and public clients regarding health and welfare plans, cafeteria plans, fringe benefit plans, such as adoption assistance and tuition reimbursement, nonqualified deferred compensation plans, executive split dollar life insurance plans and section 401(k) and pension plans.
