WASHINGTON, D.C. (September 10) – Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today that Partner Gary Bronstein will be a featured speaker at the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) National Conference on Banks & Savings Institutions 2014, which will be held September 8 - 10 at the Gaylord National Resort & Conference Center in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Bronstein will speak at a session titled, “Accept With Caution, Don’t Become Involved in Occupational Fraud.” He will join Richard Livingston, Director of the Forensic, Litigation Support and Valuation Services Team of the accounting firm of Dixon Hughes Goodman LLP in a discussing how financial institution often unknowingly become involved in occupational fraud schemes by failing to follow their own internal controls when accepting checks from customers. The session will provide case studies of real life examples of these failures, identify red flags associated with occupational fraud and provide best practices to mitigate an institution’s risk of occupational fraud.

Mr. Bronstein is Team Leader of the firm's Financial Institutions practice. He has had extensive experience with financial institution enforcement cases creating resolution strategies, negotiating settlements and leading internal investigations. Mr. Bronstein also provides counsel on corporate governance for clients that have been the subject of enforcement proceedings and for public company clients.
