SAN FRANCISCO (June 11) – Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today the addition of Melissa Patterson to the firm’s San Francisco office. Ms. Patterson joins the firm as an associate on the Electronics and Software Team in the internationally recognized Intellectual Property Department.

Ms. Patterson brings extensive experience in intellectual property litigation in areas of technology including wireless communication, electrical engineering standards, and computer software. Prior to joining Kilpatrick Townsend, Ms. Patterson was a litigation legal assistant with Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy. She also worked as a patent agent and law clerk for a boutique patent firm in Los Angeles for several years.

Ms. Patterson earned her B.S. in Information and Computer Science from the University of California in Irvine and her J.D. from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. While in law school Ms. Patterson was a judicial extern for Judge Valerie Baker Fairbank in the United States District Court for the Central District of California. Prior to attending law school, she gained six years of experience as a computer programmer.
