ATLANTA (December 16) – Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today that Whitney Deal has been named one Atlanta’s 2011 Difference Makers by Business to Business Magazine. The inaugural Difference Maker Awards program recognizes “’front line’ employees in companies and organizations that are making a difference every day.” Individuals selected “reflect the heart and soul of their organizations.”
“Whitney is a true difference-maker for our 1,200 Kilpatrick Townsend employees,” said Bill Dorris, Kilpatrick Townsend Chair. “As the lead staff person for the firm’s award-winning community relations efforts, sustainability program, and diversity initiative, Whitney is tireless in her efforts to enhance Kilpatrick Townsend’s workplace and the 18 communities we live in and serve, every day.”
In 2004, Ms. Deal created the firm’s award-winning community involvement initiative, “IMPACT,” and is currently responsible for managing all aspects of the firm’s corporate social responsibility efforts which include the employee volunteer program, charitable contributions, board placement and training, diversity & inclusion and sustainability. She also spearheaded the firm’s highly successful Booker T. Washington High School (BTW) Freedom Writers mentoring program, which began in 2006. The Freedom Writer students graduated with a remarkable 99% acceptance rate into college and with more than 330 scholarships worth over $8.5 million.
