ATLANTA/NEW YORK (October 31) – Kilpatrick Townsend announced today that partners Wayne Elowe and Chris Woods recently earned recognition in the prestigious Legal Media Group: Guide to Leading Practitioners – China. This is the international legal market’s leading guide to the top practitioners advising on China-related matters. Mr. Elowe was named a leading practitioner in Mergers and Acquisitions and Project Finance Law, and Mr. Woods was recognized as a leading practitioner in Patent and Trademark Law.

Based on independent research, this book is a one-stop reference guide for in-house counsel with interests in both in-bound and outbound Chinese legal activity. A team of researchers, based in London, Hong Kong and New York, interviewed attorneys at top firms around the world and the in-house counsel who have utilized their services.

Mr. Elowe is Co-Leader of Kilpatrick Townsend’s Asia Practice Team and has more than 17 years of experience counseling clients in connection with the expansion and development of their businesses in China and in structuring and negotiating relationships with Chinese partners through joint ventures, contract manufacturing arrangements and other types of alliances. He also represents Chinese public and privately owned companies as their global counsel.

Mr. Elowe concentrates his practice on business transactions, complex commercial transactions and general corporate matters on behalf of publicly traded and privately held multinational corporations, private equity funds, developers and other investors serving clients in the technology, healthcare, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, telecommunications, outsourcing, chemical, insurance and food industries. He has significant experience representing clients in connection with strategic alliances, joint ventures, complex licensing transactions, outsourcings, technology transactions and mergers and acquisitions, both domestically and in more than 40 countries across Europe, Asia and Latin America. Mr. Elowe was listed in the 2011 edition of Legal 500 US for Technology/Outsourcing.

Mr. Woods, a founding partner of Kilpatrick Townsend’s New York office and a Co-Leader of the firm’s Asia Practice Team, is based in Kilpatrick Townsend's New York and Taipei offices. He has nearly twenty-five years of experience in representing and counseling U.S. and European clients who have business interests or commercial disputes relating to intellectual property in Greater China, and in acting for Asia-based clients with interests and disputes in the US and Europe.

Mr. Woods lived and worked in Hong Kong for many years as a locally-admitted IP attorney.
