ATLANTA (June 20) - Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today that it was one of only 32 firms nationwide to qualify for The Women in Law Empowerment Forum’s new Gold Standard Certification. This prestigious designation is given to firms that have integrated women equity partners into top leadership positions.

The organization invited more than 300 firms with 100 or more attorneys to apply for the certification by June 1. The certification process went beyond simply looking at the percentage of women equity partners employed at law firms. It focused on whether they are significantly represented in positions of power and influence among the top-earning attorneys.

To be certified, firms had to meet at least three of the six criteria:

• Women account for at least 20 percent of equity partners.
• Women represent at least 10 percent of firm chairs and office managing partners.
• Women make up at least 20 percent of the firm's primary governance committee.
• Woman represent 20 percent or more of the firm's compensation committee.
• Women make up at least 25 percent of practice group leaders or department heads.
• Women represent at least 10 percent of the top half of the most highly compensated partners.

Kilpatrick Townsend's commitment to diversity as a core value leads the firm to pursue initiatives that make every aspect of the work environment more open and fulfilling for everyone.
