ATLANTA (November 12) – Kilpatrick Stockton announced today that Partner Bill Brewster was honored by Georgia State University, the State Bar of Georgia and the Atlanta Bar Association for his outstanding contributions to the community at the 2010 Intellectual Property Community Service Awards Luncheon. The inaugural Luncheon was held at The Commerce Club in Atlanta. The Georgia State University College of Law and J. Mack Robinson College of Business hosted the event. Mr. Brewster was honored along with the following high-profile professionals: Dr. Judy Jarecki-Black, Ann G. Fort, Frank A. Langraff, and Michael D. Hobbs. Since 1987, Mr. Brewster has been providing client counseling and litigating in the fields of trademark, false advertising, and unfair competition. He is widely recognized as one of the top IP lawyers in the country. In 2008, Mr. Brewster was lead trial counsel in adidas v. Payless, obtaining the largest jury verdict and the largest judgment ever entered in a trademark case. He has made many significant contributions to the community including: serving on the Board of Directors of the Glenn Pelham Foundation; serving as Past President of the Board of Directors of Special Olympics Georgia, where he remains an active volunteer; serving as a long time supporter of the United Way of Metro Atlanta; serving as a member of Kilpatrick Stockton’s Pro Bono Committee for several years; and serving organizations such as Down Syndrome Association of Atlanta and Special Olympics Georgia.Â
