Program Description:
In-house counsel may be surprised by the emerging ethical conundrum created by recent decisions, changing laws, issues arising from increased research collaboration, and subtle pitfalls associated with current IP practice. In house counsel are expected to protect corporate interests during due diligence, procurement/enforcement of IP, and management of data while avoiding the subtle ethical pitfalls that await the unwary. This program will provide an overview of recent decisions, changing laws, and emerging ethical risks for the in house counsel and will highlight a selection of the subtle risks. Attendees are encouraged to participate in this interactive discussion culminating in a group analysis of several “scary” ethical scenarios.
