2014 KTIPS: A One-Of-A Kind Legal Event. KTIPS (Kilpatrick Townsend Intellectual Property Seminars), hosted its annual IP CLE seminar in Silicon Valley on August 4 and 5. This year we attracted a record number of participants! Over 90 clients attended over the two days, including, Abbott Vascular, Apple, Applied Materials, Beckman Coulter, Cepheid, Clorox, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, LI-COR Biosciences, Logitech, Nest Labs, Oracle, Prometheus Laboratories, Qualcomm, Ricoh, Roche, SK hynix, Sony Computer Entertainment Network, Tessera, Trimble Navigation Limited, UCSF and VISA. The seminar is an intensive, two-day patent strategy and protection seminar designed to provide insightful and in-depth training related to current developments in patent law, and how those impact patent procurement and enforcement strategies.

Guest speaker Katharine Stephens, Joint Head of the International Intellectual Property Group at Bird & Bird in London presented on International Standard Setting Patents and FRAND. Twenty-seven Kilpatrick Townsend attorneys from Atlanta, Denver, Los Angeles, Raleigh, San Diego, San Francisco, Shanghai, Silicon Valley, Walnut Creek, Washington, D.C. and Winston-Salem rounded out the faculty. The presenters were from ten practice teams: John Alemanni, Rob Artuz, Sonia Baldia, Carole Bellis, Ted Brown, Joel Bush, Mary Craig Calkins, Ko-Fang Chang, Rich Cicchillo, Sean DeBruine, Kris Doyle, Lynn Fowler, Tom Franklin, Eugenia Garrett-Wackowski, Patrick Jewik, Wab Kadaba, Scott Kolassa, Bill Lambert, Angel Lezak, Jon Michaelson, David Raczkowski, Kris Reed, Babak Sani, Gentry Sayad, Joe Snyder, Kandace Watson and Clay Wheeler.
