Please join Adam Charnes, Partner at Kilpatrick Townsend, as he presents a CLE on the major cases decided by the U.S. Supreme Court during the 2013-14 term.

During the CLE, Adam will summarize the major rulings from the Supreme Court this past term. Attendees will learn, among other things:

  • Whether the Court virtually eliminated securities class actions.
  • Why the Court held that employers don’t have to provide health insurance coverage for their employees’ contraceptives.
  • Whether an alleged patent infringer bears the burden of proof when it files an action seeking a declaratory judgment of non-infringement.
  • Whether the Court clarified the standard for patent indefiniteness—or just made it murkier.
  • Whether the police can search your iPhone if you get arrested.

Adam will also step back from specific cases to address:

  • Why did each of the Supreme Court’s six patent cases—all unanimous—criticize the Federal Circuit?
  • How busy is the Court—and why?
  • How conservative is the Court and each of the Justices?
  • Did the 9th Circuit fare as poorly at the Court as it usually does?

Pending CLE credit in Colorado.
