The Winston-Salem office hosted a "Stories of Excellence" luncheon in November that featured speakers Lisa & Alan Caldwell. Lisa, the Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Reynolds American and R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, spoke about her childhood in Burlington, being a Morehead Scholar, a cheerleader at UNC Chapel Hill (while Michael Jordan was at Carolina), continuing on to law school at Wake Forest, working as an attorney for two area law firms and her career with Reynolds. She stressed the importance of setting goals and following dreams. Lisa’s husband Alan, who is the Director of Community & Civic Engagement at Reynolds American, Inc., spoke about his childhood in Winston-Salem, playing football at Carolina, his football career in the NFL (playing with the L.A. Rams and the N.Y. Giants) and his present career at Reynolds. He stressed the importance of having a plan and using your abilities to achieve lifelong accomplishments.
