While attending law school and before becoming a litigation attorney, Ms. Yakubova was a paralegal with the firm’s trademark and copyright team, specializing in intellectual property enforcement matters. However, her experience reaches far beyond intellectual property issues. In 2014, Ms. Yakubova spent a summer as an associate attorney at a law firm in Oakland, California, specializing in family law and estate planning litigation. In 2015, she gained invaluable hands-on experience in the Entrepreneurial Ventures Legal Services Clinic (“EVLS”) at the University of San Francisco School of Law. As the student attorney and client manager at EVLS, Ms. Yakubova provided legal assistance in all aspects of setting up a thriving start-up venture, including business entity selection and formation, intellectual property issues, and labor and employment issues, among many others. She also represented low-income investors in actions involving allegations of wrongdoing by securities firms or their employees as the part of the USF’s Investor Justice Clinic. In 2015, Ms. Yakubova discovered passion for trial advocacy, participating in several USF mock trial competitions, where she was recognized with a Creativity and Innovation in Trial Advocacy Award.
