Caroline (Kiki) Richardson focuses her practice on investment management, business and finance, securities, and mergers and acquisitions.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Richardson worked as an associate in the New York, New York office of an international law firm in its financial services group where she advised clients on the formation and regulation of U.S. funds, including mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, and private investment funds. While attending law school, Ms. Richardson was a legal extern at the North Carolina Office of the Attorney General in the Services to State Agencies Section, as well as at the North Carolina Department of the Secretary of State in the Securities Division. She was also an honors legal intern at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in the Division of Enforcement.

While attending law school, Ms. Richardson was Articles Editor of the North Carolina Journal of International Law and Commercial Regulation.


Assisted a New York based real estate management and investment company in purchasing over $113 million in apartment projects across four Southern states. These transactions involved complex real estate, financing, and corporate issues, including title issues involving bankruptcy, acquisition financing consisting of both Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae guaranteed loans, and solicitation of investors through a crowd funding website.
